IEEE 122-1985 pdf free.IEEE Recommended Practice for Functional and Performance Characteristics ofControl Systems for Steam Turbine-Generator Units.
IEEE 122 of this recommendedpractice is to recommend minimum functionalandperformancecharacteristics relatedtospeed/ load-control systems for steam turbine-generator units that may be interconnected on apower system,so that this recommended prac-tice may be included in prime-mover purchasespecifications.
Scope. These recommendations apply to thefollowing types of steam turbines, rated at 500 kwand larger, intended to drive electric generatorsat constant speed:
(1)Condensing or noncondensingturbineswithout initial or exhaust steam-pressure control,or both, including turbines used with reheat, orregenerative feedwater heaters,or both. See Figsl and 2.
(2)Condensingornoncondensingturbineswith initial or exhaust steam-pressure control, orboth, including turbines used with reheat or re-generative feedwater heaters,or both. See Figs 3,7,8(a) and (b).
(3) Automatic extraction,or induction,or both,and mixed-pressure turbines. See Figs 4,5,and8(c).
This recommended practice is supplementedby the following codes and standards.

Speed/Load-Control-System Components3.2.1 Compensated Control System. An inter-connected system that controls two or more vari-ables (speed, load, pressure, etc) with compensa-tion designed tominimizethe interactionbetween the controlled variables.
Control Mechanism. The control mech-anism includes all systems, devices, and mech-anisms between a controller and the controlledvalves.
Control Valve. Those valves that controlthe energy input to the turbine and that are actu-ated by a controller through the control mech-anism.
High-Speed Limit (Speed/Load Refer-ence). A device or input that limits the speed/load reference setting to a predetermined upperlimit. This device may establish the upper limit ofthe synchronizing speed range.
Load Controller. The load controller in-cludes only those components and control ele-ments that are responsive to energy output andload reference, that furnish an input signal to thecontrol mechanism for the purpose of controllingthe load.
Low-Speed Limit (Speed/Load Refer-ence). A device or input that limits the speed/load reference setting to a predetermined lowerlimit. This device may establish the lower limit ofthe synchronizing speed range.IEEE 122 pdf download.
