1.1 This specification establishes the requirements for seamless copper tube intended for use in the connection, repairs. or
alternations of air conditioning or refrigeration units in the field.
1.1.1 Fittings used for soldered or hratcd Connections rn air condiuoning and refrigeration systems arc described in ASM1 Standard B16.22.
1.1.2 The assembly of copper tubular systems by soldering is described in Practice B828.
1.1.3 Solders br joining copper tubular systems arc described in Specification B32. The requirements for acceptable fluxes for these systems are described in Specification B813.

2.Rcspinsihiliiv for 1n.’pecrion—U niess otherwise sped— tied in the cornract or purchase order, the manufacturer is responsible for the performance of all inspection and test requirements specified. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order. the manufacturer has the option to use his own or any other suitable facilities for the perfinnance of the inspection and test requirements unless disapproved by the purchaser at the lime the order is placed. The purchaser shall have the right to pertorm any of the inspections or tests set forth when such Inspections and tests are deemed necessary to ensure that the material conforms to prescribed requirements.
3.l All material shall be properly marked for identilication in accordance with Fed. SW. No. l5 except (hat the ASThI specitication number and the alloy number shall be used.
4.1Preservcaion, Packagiiig, Packing:
4.1.1 Miliiarv flg(’ncw.c—The material shall be separated by site, con1x)sition, grade, or class and shall be preserved and packaged. Level A or C, packed. Level A. B. or C as specified in the contract or purchase order, in accordance with the requirements of Practice B900.
4.12 civil it,çt’ncw.s—The requirements of Fed. Sid. No. 102 shall be referred for definitions of the various levels of packaging protection.
4.2 Marking:
4.2.1 Miliiarv Agc’ncks— -In addition to any special marking required by the contract or purchase order. marking for shipment shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
