BS ISO 7296-2:2020 pdf free.Cranes—Graphical symbols.
This document establishes graphical symbols for use on operator controls and other displays on mobilecranes as defined in ISO 4306-2.
The following documents are referred to in the text in such a way that some or all of their contentconstitutes requirements of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. Forundated references, the latest edition of the referenced document(including any amendments) applies.IEC 80416-1, Basic principles for graphical symbols for use on equipment — Part 1:Creation of graphicalsymbols for registration
ISO 80416-2,Basic principles for graphical symbols for use on equipment —Part 2:Form and use of arrowsISo 7000,Graphical symbols for use on equipment Registered symbols. For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
Symbols shall be as shown in Clauses 5 to 12. Symbols which are shown in outline form may befilled, when actually used, for enhanced clarity of reproduction and improved visual perception by theoperator, except as otherwise noted for individual symbols.
Limitations inherent in some reproduction and display technologies can require increased linethickness or other minor modifications of symbols. Such modifications are acceptable provided thesymbol remains unchanged in its basic graphical elements and is easily identifiable by the operator.
Additionally, to improve the appearance and perceptibility of a symbol, or to coordinate with thedesign of the equipment to which the symbol is applied, it can be necessary to change the line thicknessor to round the corners of a symbol. The graphical designer is normally free to make such changes, provided that the essential perceptual characteristics of the symbol are maintained(see IEC 80416-1).
For actual use, all symbols shall be reproduced large enough to be easily identifiable by theoperator. See IEC 80416-1 for guidelines on the proper sizing of symbols. Symbols shall be used in theorientations shown in this document unless otherwise noted for individual symbols.
Most symbols are constructed using a building block approach in which various symbols andsymbol elements are combined in a logical manner to produce a new symbol.lf a symbol shows a machine or parts of a machine from a side view, a machine moving from rightto left across the symbol grid area shall be assumed. If a symbol shows a machine or parts of a machinefrom an overhead (top) view, a machine moving from bottom to top across the symbol grid area shall beassumed.Symbols on controls and displays shall have good contrast to their background.A light symbol ona dark background is preferred for most controls. Displays may use either a light symbol on a dark background or a dark symbol on a light background, depending on which alternative provides the best visualperception. When a symbol image is reversed [for example, from black-on-white to white-on-black andvice versa), it shall be done for the entire symbol.Symbols shall be located on or adjacent to the control or display that they relate to. Where morethan one symbol is required for a control, the symbols shall be located in relation to the control such thatmovement of the control towards the symbol shall perform the function depicted by that symbol.
Arrows used in symbols shall conform to the requirements of lSO 80416-2.IEC 80416-1 shall beconsulted for the general principles of creating symbols.BS ISO 7296 pdf download.
