Connectors with a self-locking gate shall lock the gate automatically when the gate shuts, and shallrequire at least two different deliberate manual actions to open the gate.
Connectors with a manual-locking gate,except screwlink connectors, shall require a deliberatemanual action to lock the gate, and shall require at least two different deliberate manual actions to open thegate.
Screwlink connectors shall require at least four complete rotations of the screw-motion gate from thefully screwed up position to disengagement of the threads.The threads shall not be visible when the gate islocked.
The gate opening a shall be determined as described in 5.1.2 and verified that it is not less than thatgiven by the manufacturer.
When tested in accordance with 5.2, connectors shall withstand the load specified in Table 1 for a period of3 min ± 3 s.At the end of the test, the gate shall still be closed.BS EN 362 pdf download.
