BS 8462 This part of BS 8462 specifies requirements for both socketed and free-standing goals intended for youthfootball, futsal, mini-soccer and small-sided football (i.e. five-, six- and seven-a-side football).
lt is applicable to goals used for training and competition in indoor arenas and sports halls, and to outdoorsports facilities.
It does not apply to eleven-a-side adult(full-size) football goals that fall within the scope of BS EN 748.NOTE A specification for full-size football goals is given in BS EN 748:2004.

For the purposes of this British Standard, the following definitions apply.
youth football eleven- or nine-a-side football played by players in the age range 11 to 16.
small-sided football versions of the football played by less than eleven players, including five-, six- and seven-a-side footbal,that are governed by Football Association’s Small Sided Football Laws of the Game.
The minimum depth of ground sockets (if applicable) shall be 460 mm.NOTE See Annex A for installation recommendations.
Diagonal supports Where diagonal supports are supplied (see Figure 3), they shall be connected to the goal frame at aminimum height of 1 500 mm and to the support frame at a distance of at least 2 000 mm from the goalframe.
Net The dimensions of the net shall conform to Table 4.
The goal frame, net supports or support frame,and ground sockets or ground fixings shall be made of metalor of rigid plastics tube that incorporate a U.V. stabilizer.
