BS 7323:1990 pdf free.Specification for Sit harnesses for rockclimbing.
BS 7323 Homopolymers or copolymers of virgin hightenacity polypropylene processed as continuousfilaments having a relative density of approximately 0.91.A polypropylene rope eithershall be protected by a covering layer of a material that prevents the passage of ultravioletradiation, or shall be stabilized against solardegradation by the addition to the polymer of anadditive or additives. The choice of additives shallbe such that the rope shall have a percentageretained strength of not less than 70 % of theretained strength of the control, when tested asdescribed in clause 21 of BS 5053:1985.
Any other suitable man-made material that ismade from virgin high tenacity continuous filament and that either shall be protected by acovering layer of a material that prevents thepassage of ultraviolet radiation, or shall be stableagainst solar radiation, so that the rope shallhave a retained strength of not less than 70 % ofthe retained strength of the control, when testedas described in clause 21 of BS 5053:1985.Webbing used for the construction of the load-bearing parts of the sit harness shall be madeso as to comply with one of the following.
The yarn used for the webbing shall be ofpolyamide (virgin bright high tenacity continuousfilament) or polyester (virgin bright high tenacitycontinuous filament) having a uniform breakingstrength.
The webbing shall be woven from virgin hightenacity continuous filament polypropyleneyarns.Polypropylene webbing either shall beprotected by a covering layer of a material thatprevents the passage of ultraviolet radiation, orshall be stabilized against solar degradation bythe addition to the polymer of an additive oradditives. The choice of additives shall be suchthat the webbing shall have a percentage retained strength of not less than 70 % of theretained strength of the control, when tested asdescribed in clause 21 of BS 5053:1985, exceptthat paragraph 2 of 21.3.1 does not apply.c) The webbing shall be made of any other
suitable man-made material that is made fromvirgin high tenacity continuous filament and thateither shall be protected by a covering layer of amaterial that prevents the passage of ultravioletradiation, or shall be stable against solar radiation so that the webbing shall have aretained strength of not less than 70 % of theretained strength of the control, when tested asdescribed in clause 21 of BS 5053:1985, exceptthat paragraph 2 of 21.3.1 does not apply.BS 7323 pdf download.
