6.3 Testing
Testing shall be carried out in accordance with the reference methods specified in Table I
and at frequencies specified in Table 2.
6.4 1%Iaterial requirements
Slag sampled and tested in accordance with Clauses 6.2 and 6.3 shall comply with the limits set out in Table 1.
6.5 Additions
When requested, the supplier shall state if constituents other than water and those deFined in
Clauses 4.1 to 4.3 are used in the manufacture of slag.
7 REFERENCE AND ALTERNATIVE TEST METHODS
7.1 Reference test methods
The limits given in Table I are based on the use of the appropriate reference test methods listed in that Table. The following determinations shall be conducted by the reference method, where required:
(a) Relative water and strength index shall be carried out using the reference test method
AS 3583.6.
(b) Total alkali and Available alkali shall only be carried out using the reference methods of AS 2350.2 and AS 3583.12 respectively.
7.2 Alternative test methods
Alternative methods of test may be used unless specifically excluded by Clause 7.1,provided that such methods have been validated by establishing that results do not differ from those produced by the methods referenced in this Standard by more than the amount given in Table 3. However, in any case of a dispute related to test results, determinations shall be conducted using the reference method.
8 RETESTING
If a sub-sample of slag fails to comply with any of the requirements of Table 1 when tested in accordance with relevant test method(s), the relevant test(s) shall be repeated on two further sub-samples of the sample.
If the retest shows both these further portions comply with the relevant requirement(s), the quantity represented by the sample shall be deemed to comply with this Standard.
9 PACKING, DELIVERY AND MARKING OF BAGGED SLAG
9.1 Packing and delivery
Bagged slag shall be delivered in sound packages undamaged by moisture or other defects.AS 3582.2 pdf download.
